Poll on sus.tweak??

I can do all my suspension this fri, but I afraid that the winter(in chicago) will mess up the car. What you guys think I should do. Put it on or wait for the spring w/ the rest of the goodies??

By suspension I mean: shocks, springs, sway bar and rear upper bar.

This will be my first winter on my suspension too (H&R OE Sports, KYB AGX). We'll see how the potholes feel. Probably pretty bad! At least I'll have 14" wheels and soft snow tires on to take the brunt of it.

The JRSC loves winter. One week after I installed mine last January, the temperature went below zero and stayed there for 10 days (it got up to a balmy 8 degrees once or twice!). No problems at all.

Are the shocks you're putting on adjustable? Coilovers? If either answer is yes, Go for it!

Yes I have adj shocks, tokico illuminas, how will that help in the winter?

Adjustable shocks will help because you can set them to their softest setting to lessen the impact from potholes and other frozen hazards.

Coilovers, which I don't have, would allow you to raise ground clearance for the winter months. I only dropped 3/4", so that's not a problem for me.

Hey Nick!

You know how low I'm dropped! I have had no problems with winters here. Altough I do raise it in the winter, it's still low. 3 years ago when we had that crazy snow storm of 36 inchs, I drove it everyday to and from work with no problems. Don't worry about it.

Nick, the winter did nothing to my suspension, and I run it without dustcovers since i am too lazy to put them on. About all that happens is bolts will sieze up, but I am sure yours are already seized just with age.
Just do it, your car needs it so that it can be ready for the blower.

I guess but Im still leary about it. I just know that Im going to kill the car this winter.... just some weird feeling... things are going way to good. It just happens that way. we'll see.

Im getting the suspension done on fri, and I get to watch and take pics. Does anyone know the stock alignment??? I need the specks by fri or sat.
